The vocational animator, a joyful witness and communicator of the Pauline Vocation to the new generations

Accelerate your steps!!

Fr. José Lisboa Moreira de Oliveira, priest of the pp.Vocationists, doctor in theology through the Gregorian University, Rome, author of many books and dozens of articles on vocational themes, Director-president of the Institute of Pastoral Vocations (IPV), lecturer in the Sector of Vocations and Ministries of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil

Fr. Lisboa treated the theme of the methodology and pedagogy of Vocation Promotion.
“The invitation of Jesus, «Come and see» (Jn 1:39), is the golden rule of pastoral work for promoting vocations, even today. Following the example of founders and foundresses, this work aims at presenting the attraction of the person of the Lord Jesus and the beauty of the total gift of self for the sake of the Gospel” (John Paul II, The Consecrated Life, 1996, no. 64)

In his talks, Fr. José strongly provoked us by posing some questions which generated in the heart of each one of us, an anxiety and at the same time a strong appeal that reawakened in us the passion and the desire to put the person of Jesus at the centre of our life. We share with you some of the questions:
a) In their contact with us, what impact do we make on today’s youth, who belong to a culture of images?
b) In what way does the Congregation have to “die” to be “reborn”? What needs to be changed in me, in my community, in my circumscription, in the Congregation, in order to be reborn, to live with joy, enthusiasm and hope, our pauline vocation? How do we rediscover and communicate the prophetic and courageous dynamism of the Pauline Charism in the Church and the society of today?

Chasity has to be fruitful or productive and able to give birth to new “sons and daughters”. In this sense, the work of Vocation Animation starts with the animation of every sister of the institute, in a way that each one of us, in any situation or place in which we find ourselves, feels always the responsibility to “give birth to new sons and daughters.” And as the community is the motherly womb of every vocation (c.f. A. Cencini), the weakening of fraternal life, leads inevitably, to the decline of vocations.

If we love our Pauline vocation, none of us will die without leaving behind at least one ‘daughter’ to continue after us!

Dear Sisters,
Greetings from Melbourne, Australia!
You are in my thoughts & prayers as you continue your days of Vocation Animation. May all of you continue to listen with your heart and make this as a privileged moment of enriching our beautiful Pauline Vocation. Indeed we have so much to share with our world especially with the young people of today. May we be "fertile mothers" giving new birth, new life to the Daughters of St Paul, the Pauline Family, the Church and the world at large through God's grace. This is the big challenge for you and me!

Prayerful wishes,
Emma Garol,fsp

P.S.
Srs Nimfa, Ino & Pina thanks for the enriching time with you in Tokyo, Japan!

Welcome to the English readers of the Blog! May the good Lord continue to bless all our efforts to live the Pauline vocation and to share it to others especially to the young. Let us continue to believe that what Primo Maestro has foreseen in AD n. 17 will especially come true in our time:
As he thought about the future, it seemed to him that in the new century generous souls would feel what he felt; and that when organized, they would achieve what Toniolo strongly urged: “Unite! If the enemy finds us alone, he will overcome us one by one”.

You are in our daily prayers as we join you in the call to ask the Lord of the harvest to send many Paulines to the harvest! The new issue of the Pauline Cooperator just arrived - it is the issue for Vocations so it is uniting us even more for your work in Brazil.

Greetings and many prayers of unity and fellowship from Miami's Paulinas CoffeeHouse Group. As I read the diaries from different days it is very clear that the clarity, intensity and joy of this apostolate is one of the key reasons that young adults have been attracted to gather with the faith community in Miami. Brothers and sisters alike, are engaging the Pauline community with eyes wide open, to witness and learn more about what it is to live Christ, live His word, follow his teachings as St.Paul had and, in the process, finding true joy. Animating the Spirit in our community, our common task, our common goal. We pray for more fruits of the Spirit that each of the communities in the Americas may truly benefit from this conference.
